KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – ICC Cricket World Cup (CWC) 2007 organisers announced Wednesday night that some previously unavailable semi-final tickets will be going on sale from Thursday when the third phase of Public Ticketing for matches begins.
ICC CWC West Indies 2007 Inc. says cricket fans worldwide have been “gifted an opportunity to get some of the hottest tickets for ICC Cricket World Cup 2007.” |
 |
| Commercial Director of ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007 Inc., Stephen Price, disclosed that on Thursday, “a number of previously unavailable tickets for the tournament’s semi-final fixtures in Jamaica (April 24) and Saint Lucia (April 25) will go on sale” when Public Ticketing’s third phase begins. |
| Explaining that ICC CWC WI 2007 Inc. has received a number of returns (tickets) from various contractual obligations to the Event’s commercial partners (sponsors) – who have the option to buy a fixed number of tickets – he said it was decided that, if returned, these tickets would be released back into the Public Ticketing pool. |
| “Some sponsors have not exercised their full option on tickets for the most popular matches and subsequently CWC is in a position to make more Category 1, 2 and 3 tickets available to the public for certain matches, including both semi-finals,” Price said. |
| To afford persons going to ICC CWC 2007 Official Ticket Centres -- in the nine Host Venues -- an equal chance of purchasing these semi-finals tickets, as those fans conducting their transactions online, the semi-final tickets will not be released for sale until 9 a.m. Eastern Caribbean time Thursday. |
| “The Ticket Centre in Jamaica opens at 8 a.m. which is 9 a.m. in the Eastern Caribbean and, as it is the last centre to open, that’s when the semi-final tickets will be made available to the public. |
| "Though Phase 3 operates on a ‘first-come-first-served’ basis, CWC believes this is the fairest way to offer these tickets for sale,” Price suggested. |
