Co-Founder Patricia Chin is Presented with Emerald Award
The Woman of Great Esteem Organization honor Ms. Patricia Chin, Co-Founder of VP Records and Founder of Riddim Driven Clothing, for her admired contributions. She, along with nine other women, are the chosen few who will be presented with the Emerald Award on March 31, 2007 in Brooklyn. The Emerald Awards Ceremony recognizes women for their astonishing achievements and dedication in a multi-cultural society. Like the emerald itself, these women are “precious gemstones which improve relationships and mediation, strengthen clairvoyance and psychic abilities and aid in mental illness.” The event begins at 6p.m. and will be held at the Brooklyn Museum’s Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Auditorium located on 200 Eastern Parkway at Washington Avenue. Keith David is the honorary chairperson and Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke will be the keynote speaker at the gala.
MR EASY
(Kingston, Jamaica) Dancehall’s laid back singer has been busy in the studio and also on the road. Presently Easy is wrapping up several new tracks. There’s new material getting ready to drop including an amazing collaboration with hip hop recording artist - RED CAFÉ (Shakedown/Konvict/UMG - more news on that next week) as well as a powerful joint collaboration produced by Big Ship's Stephen McGregor with dancehall's versatile deejay ASSASSIN.
Further, towards the end of last year Mr Easy blessed Tony Matterhorn’s song “WICKEDEST RIDE”. As a result, the song has been doing exceptionally well in various community communities. The song is extremely popular in England. If you didn’t get to go to STING 2007 in Jamaica, you can check out the two performing the song together by visiting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCwzlez5x54. The song “Wickedest Ride” was recorded on the Show Off Riddim. This song was serviced via MP3 to reggae dj’s worldwide. If you know anyone missing the track have them contact management – RudeGal Ent. at rudegal@rudegal.com to get an MP3 of the song.
In addition to these accomplishments, Mr Easy’s positive anti violent tune “TEK WEY YUHSELF” is still building steam in markets outside Jamaica. Recorded with producers/recording artists Leftside & Esco on their DEM TIME DEH Riddim, the song has more longevity than many of the tunes. Mr Easy lead off the medley video, which can also be viewed on VibeOne TV . The song is being considered for an anti-violence campaign in England as it’s positive message is highly recognized.
Mr Easy has several upcoming shows:
4/21 – Boys & Girls Club in Langley Park, MD
5/19 - The End Club in Nashville, TN |
